The Women’s Center Little Black Dress Party held in September each year at StarView Vineyards, is an event designed for women only, the theme being: “ Women enjoying each other’s company, celebrating the strength of women, while supporting women in need.” The idea is for women to have a chance to put on their “little black dress: and treat themselves and their sisters, mothers, friends, co-workers, etc. to an evening of wine, food, music and art. The event is intended to make women feel special and spoiled for one night. And the girls at More Than Décor helped us do just that for the inaugural event in 2007 and again for this year’s event. The decorations they donated were amazing. When women entered the winery, they were awestruck – saying they’d never seen anything like it in Southern Illinois. The decorations give the event “that something special” we were hoping to provide for our guests that evening. The event also has a serious purpose, to raise much needed funds for the Women’s Center in Carbondale. Plans for the 2009 Little Black Dress Party are underway, and our first call was to the girls at More Than Décor to ask them to help us make it another special evening for the women of Southern Illinois!

It is hard to find a business that delights in spoiling their customers, but the girls at More than Décor do it very well. It has been a wonderful experience getting to know each of them and their talents. They provide professional and friendly service whether the purchase is small or large. Our summer wreath gets lots of compliments as it brightens our front door and welcomes our guests. Thank you girls for taking such good care of all our needs from gourmet coffee to beautiful floral arrangements. Enjoy your new beautiful space and we wish you lots of success. Just walking into More than Décor is a treat for your senses. Everywhere you look is a display of something interesting and unique. The staff is most friendly and courteous. Jennifer prepared the casket piece and side pieces for my step- father’s funeral in March. They were breathtaking and when I looked at the other flowers, I could tell immediately which ones came from More than Décor. The girls are quite gifted in their design and selection of flowers. They will certainly have all of my future business.

More than Décor completely redecorated my guest house. This included ordering all new furniture, bedding, painting, choosing appliances, shutter blinds and counters tops. They also used collectables along with pictures and decorations items to make my guest house complete. I just love it. Thank for all your hard work.

This is one of the most unique shops ever and one of the best kept secrets in Southern Illinois! Upon your first visit, you will be a visitor – upon your second visit, you’re a friend. The staff is most helpful and is quick to learn your likes/dislikes. If you need something “special”, they are more than willing to either find it for you with one of their many sources or help to create it for you in their floral dept. I have always been pleased with their work and cannot say enough good things about this fantastic shop and their staff!”
